Check the date on your smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms today. Alarms should be replaced 10 years after the manufacture date (not the date of purchase). Many newer alarms have a built-in 10-year battery, but if your alarms still require batteries, make sure you change the batteries every six months.
